JetBlue Airways will begin service next year at Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport, airline and airport officials said Wednesday.
The new service is scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2022, according to a statement from Mitchell International.
The New York-based airline will offer nonstop flights to two key markets from Milwaukee: Boston Logan International Airport and New York John F. Kennedy International Airport.
“This is exciting news for travelers throughout Wisconsin, Brian Dranzik, airport director at Mitchell said in a statement. JetBlue is the largest domestic airline not already serving MKE, and this will be a fantastic option for passengers traveling to and from Milwaukee in 2022.
Mount Pleasant PD: Vehicles damaged, several stolen at dealership

MOUNT PLEASANT, Wis. - Multiple vehicles in the lot of Palmen Motors in Mount Pleasant were damaged by vandals on Friday, April 16.
Officers were dispatched to the dealership on Washington Avenue for a burglary. They found windows that were smashed out and heavy damage inside the dealership. Multiple vehicles in the lot also had their windows broken out as well.
During the inventory of vehicles, it was determined that three vehicles were stolen. Officials say two of the vehicles were later recovered in Chicago.
Investigators say the suspects were four men, Black, one possibly armed with a handgun.

Seats will go on sale in the coming months.

MADISON, Wis. - The number of positive cases of COVID-19 in Wisconsin rose by 626 Wednesday, April 21, officials with the Wisconsin Department of Health Services reported, for a total of 592,262.
Officials with the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) reported three new deaths Wednesday, with a total of 6,721 deaths in the state.
Of the positive cases, 28,764 have required hospitalization (4.9%), while 576,288 have recovered (97.3%), making for 9,009 active cases (1.5%).
More than 2.8 million have tested negative.
More than 3.4 million have been tested.

MILWAUKEE - JetBlue Airways will be flying out of Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport starting in 2022, officials announced on Wednesday morning, April 21.
The airline will offer nonstop flights to two markets: Boston Logan International Airport and New York/John F. Kennedy International Airport.
Milwaukee Mitchell s director said the move to bring the airline here was years in the making, and in anticipation of the post-pandemic travel surge, setting up the concourse now just makes sense.
