Antenna Awards rescheduled to June 19
Following Wednesday’s COVID 19 restriction updates in Victoria, the 2021 Antenna Awards will not go ahead this Saturday, 29th of May.
It is with great consideration and disappointment that the Awards Committee have decided to reschedule the event to Saturday, June 19th at 7:30pm. The awards ceremony will still take place at Federation Square’s Deakin Edge with up-to-date COVID-safe plans in place.
Originally announced hosts Lance DeBoyle and Gabriella LaBucci of Lance TV Ballarat will still helm proceedings and the night is still set to feature special musical guests, VIPs including
State and Federal MPs, and Community Television personalities from across Australia. Prior to the date change, event organisers were set to announce a sold-out event, with a full capacity of 400+ due to be in attendance.

Community broadcasters C31 Melbourne and C44 Adelaide are calling on the Communications Minister to include community television in its proposed re-stack of Australian TV spectrum and keep C31 Melbourne and C44 Adelaide on-air until their broadcast spectrum is repurposed.
Since 2014, the Federal Government has provided seven last-minute broadcast licence extensions, insisting that community TV stations transition to an online-only model. During that time community broadcasters have folded in Sydney, Brisbane and Perth, but Melbourne & Adelaide have endured, including through a last minute reprieve announced by Paul Fletcher on
Q+A, just 26 hours before they were due to lose broadcast spectrum.
