Barclays in Frinton-on-Sea, Essex is currently the only bank in the town - Credit: Google Street View The Essex seaside town of Frinton-on-Sea will lose its last remaining bank when Barclays closes its branch in the town. Residents of the resort will need to travel seven miles away to Clacton-on-Sea s Barclays for in-person banking services.  Reflecting on the news, Frinton ward councillor Terry Allen said: It s just another kick in the teeth to the town which has already seen NatWest and Lloyd s banks close.  Not everyone s got cars or uses the internet. And how long will it be before they tell us to go to Colchester?

Consultation launched over town council s post office takeover

Reopened - the Post Office at The Triangle, Frinton, was temporarily reopened in November THE Post Office has confirmed that a “vital” branch will be taken over by a town council. Last month Frinton and Walton Town Council formally agreed to save the post office at a shopping centre in Frinton. The Post Office branch at Martin’s newsagent at the Triangle Shopping Centre, in Rochford Way, closed in November after the company decided not to renew its lease on the building. The branch has been reopened temporarily by the Post Office until a new branch is up and running after concerns were raised by councillors.
