But on March 13 (Friday the 13th, she noted), Jeannie was taken to the hospital with a high fever. The doctors sent her home to BridgePoint, thinking she might have a bladder infection. Lewis died in the fire. - Angelo Marcelle An 82-year-old woman is in a stable but serious condition after she suffered burns to her arms and back as she tried to save her 92-year-old husband from their burning Cocorite house. The woman, Eldena Lewis, pulled her husband George out of the house after gunmen stormed in, shot George Lewis and one of their dogs and set their house on fire. Newsday was told the incident happened around 4.45 am on Monday. Gunshots were heard on Palm Lane, off Harding Place in Cocorite and shortly after, the house was ablaze.
