Birmingham City Council has accepted it acted unlawfully in ignoring heritage campaigners’ comments when approving a Glancy Nicholls-designed 51-storey skyscraper last year
The local authority conceded a judicial review claim against the granting of planning permission for the £100 million One Eastside residential scheme on a plot near Curzon Street HS2 station.

The High Court last month allowed a fresh ‘ground’ to be added to the judicial review, meaning a judge would decide whether the council acted lawfully in failing to report an objection to the scheme by the Victorian Society to members of the planning committee.
