A man in his 70 s died after a road traffic collision in Westmeath yesterday evening
Gardaí are investigating a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision that occurred in the Gainstown area of Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, around 7pm yesterday evening.
A man aged in his late 70s, the sole occupant of a van, was pronounced dead at the scene.
His remains were removed to Mullingar Regional Hospital.

A forensic examination of the scene has taken place.
Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information, particularly any road users who may have dash cam footage, to contact them at Mullingar Garda Station on 044 938 4000 or the Garda Confidential line on 1800 666 111.

Gardaí are appealing for the public’s assistance in relation to an aggravated burglary that occurred at a business premises in the Rathconrath area of Mullingar, Co.Westmeath on Saturday, April 17.
Shortly before 9pm, two masked men entered into a business premises in the area whilst the business owner was present.

GARDAÍ ARE APPEALING for information after two masked men broke into a business premises in Westmeath on Saturday.
The incident occurred shortly before 9pm in the Rathconrath area of Mullingar.
The owner of the business was present at the time of the burglary, but no injuries were reported during the incident.
A quantity of cash was taken from the premises, and the two masked men fled the scene.
