Federal Poly Bida  inaugurates N1bn projects

Share The Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Bida, Dr Abubakar Abdul Dzukogi has lauded the Federal Government and the Federal Ministry of Education for approving seven newly completed projects estimated at about N1 billion to the Bida campus of the Institution through the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TetFund) intervention. The rector made the commendation during the inauguration of the multi-million naira projects at the polytechnic. Dr Dzukogi noted that about five projects were sponsored byTetFund while two others were executed through internally generated revenue (IGR) to provide an enabling atmosphere for teaching and learning for lecturers as well as students of the institution.

Akeredolu seeks TETFUND s support for UNIMED, OAUSTECH

Dayo Johnson – Akure Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State has solicited the support of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) for development at the University of Medical Sciences, Ondo (UNIMED) and the Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology, Okitipupa (OAUSTECH). Akeredolu after a closed-door meeting with the Executive Secretary of TET-Fund Prof. Suleiman Elias Bogoro said TETFund’s impact has already been felt at the Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo (RUGIPO), and Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko. A statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Richard Olabode Olatunde said the governor noted that his visit was to seek the support of TET-Fund for the two other institutions in the state so as to ensure that development is spread across the four government-owned institutions.

Ogun Govt inaugurates N80m Mapoly TETFUND projects [ARTICLE]

The Ogun government on Saturday inaugurated Information Communication Technology (ICT) equipment worth N80 million at the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Abeokuta. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the equipment, funded by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND), comprised of 280 sets of computer systems and generators, among others. The state Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, during the inauguration at Abeokuta campus of MAPOLY, noted that the equipment would boost teaching in the institution. The commissioner reiterated government’s effort towards integrating technology into teaching and learning activities, pointing out that the provision of the equipment was apt at the time when virtual learning was the order of the day.

NINLAN Wants FG to Repair More Internal Roads, Check Erosion

By Emmanuel Ugwu-Nwogo The National Institute for Nigerian Languages, (NINLAN), Aba, has commended the federal government for its intervention in the construction of its internal roads, saying that it would boost academic activities in the institution. The road network built by the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing was inaugurated by the minister Babatunde Fashola, who was represented by the federal controller of works in Abia State, Engr. Bede Obioha at a ceremony to officially hand over the road to the management of NINLAN. However, the Executive Director of NINLAN, Prof. Obiajulu Emejulu in his address at the ceremony pleaded with the minister to extend the newly built road by 400 metres. This, he said, would help mitigate the erosion menace confronting the institution and to link critical sections of the institution, which is still struggling to develop its huge permanent site.

Automobile: Nigeria recorded $1bn investment through Honda, Innoson, Dangote in 2019 — NADDC

Federal Government said on Wednesday that recorded over $1 billion investment into the automotive industry in 2019. The Director-General of the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), Mr Jelani Aliyu made the disclosure at the opening of the two-day investigative hearing into the financial budgetary approvals and multilateral donation on skills acquisition and related programs of the Federal Government and its agencies by House of Representatives Ad-hoc on the matter. The committee is chaired by Hon. Victor Akinjo. The committee had alleged that reports submitted to it indicated that contracts worth multi-billion naira awarded by various Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) for the training/skill acquisition programmes were implemented without Appropriation between 2011 and 2020.
