AT&T equipment damage due to Nashville RV explosion causes widespread outage, halts flights

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Hundreds of customers and air traffic control at Nashville’s airport were impacted by an AT&T outage caused by an explosion that took place in downtown Nashville early Christmas morning, according to the company and the FAA.
The Federal Aviation Administration temporarily halted flights out of Nashville International Airport due to telecommunications issues associated with the explosion in downtown Nashville. Operations at the airport resumed at 6:50 p.m. local time but the airport advised travelers about delays and to check with their airlines on the status of their flights.

The Federal Aviation Administration issued a âground stopâ Monday afternoon for Little Rock and all surrounding commercial airports.
According to a news release from Shane Carter, public affairs and governmental relations director at Clinton National Airport, the FAAâs Memphis Air Traffic Control Center is closed for COVID cleaning.
âAll incoming and outgoing traffic will be suspended until the order is lifted at approximately 2:30 p.m.,â he said.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - COVID-19 prompted a temporary ground stop at Memphis International Airport and several other commercial airports near the Mid-South.
The Federal Aviation Administration issued the ground stop Monday morning while the FAAâs Memphis Air Traffic Control Center was closed for COVID-19 cleaning.
All incoming and outgoing traffic was suspended until the order was lifted around 2:30 p.m. A spokesperson for MEM says flights have resumed.
