“Months before we had the Pfizer vaccine, we have prepared for this and already rented an ultra cold freezer to store them properly. We opted to rent instead of buying one since it is much more economical and allowed us to spend our budget wisely and use the savings for other COVID-related activities,” Zamora said.
The MDF-C8V1-PK ultra-low freezer rented by the city government has a temperature range of -60°C to -80°C, a new cooling circuit that enables filter-less structure, and can store up to 12,000 vials. It also comes with a system for high and low temperature alarm as well as power failure alarm to ensure that the vaccines will not be compromised and wasted.

The San Juan City local government, in partnership with Converge ICT Solutions Inc., launched on Friday the Fiber Optic Internet and Learning Management System that will provide free internet connection to the city’s public school students to help them in their online classes amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The program enables all San Juaneño public school students to be provided with fast and reliable fiber optic internet connection with WIFI modem for their online education.

“As of May 5, 2021, a total of 58,946 San Juaneños have registered with our San Juan vaccination program. That is 69.23 percent of the target population of 85,400 to achieve herd immunity,” Zamora said in his Facebook post.
“We have vaccinated 12,108 San Juaneños already as of May 5 at a rate of 600-800 a day because of the current limited supply of vaccines,” he added.
The mayor said that once the city’s supply of vaccines from the national government increases, combined with the city-procured 100,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines, it will be able to increase the number vaccinees to around 3,000 a day in multiple vaccination centers.

San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora said on Monday that there are more than 30 community pantries in San Juan that are offering “bayanihan” (community assistance) to those who were affected by the imposition of the Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine in Metro Manila and in the nearby provinces of Laguna, Cavite, Rizal, and Bulacan due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
