Two COVID-related deaths reported in Huron and Perth counties Feb. 4 are connected to outbreaks at Caressant Care’s adjoined retirement and long-term care homes in Listowel, the region’s top public health doctor has confirmed.
Those outbreaks were declared Jan. 7 and Jan 10, respectively, and have since been linked to 15 deaths, making Caressant Care’s Listowel location the hardest hit congregate care facility in the region. An outbreak at Cedarcroft Place retirement home in Stratford claimed the lives of 13 residents between Oct. 27 and Dec. 31.
