Panthers sweep Fredericksburg in bi-district playoffs, give Cavazos 100th career win (Geronimo) – Navarro gave head baseball coach Kris Cavazos his 100th career win with a 3-1 road triumph over Fredericksburg on Friday in the first game of their 4A bi-district playoff series, and the Panthers completed the 2-0 sweep with a 4-1 home win on Saturday in Geromino. The Panthers took a 2-0 lead in the first inning of Game 1 when Tristan Brashears singled in Sam Muniga and Jaxen Monkerud drove in Reece Rojas with a groundout. Aden Supak scored Kaden Monkerud’s courtesy runner Hunter Monroe with a two-out RBI single to make it 3-0 in the top of the fourth, and the Battlin’ Billies scored their only run on an error in the bottom half of the frame.

Navarro softball sweeps Canyon Lake, advances to area playoffs (Marion) – Navarro found reprieve from the region’s rainy weather and wet field conditions on the artificial turf at Marion High School to sweep Canyon Lake 18-8 and 13-3 in the 4A bi-district softball playoffs on Thursday and Friday. The Panthers started the first game at Canyon Lake on Wednesday, led 4-3 in the fourth inning when play was suspended due to weather, resumed the game in Marion on Thursday, and outscored the Hawks 14-5 the rest of the way to take a 1-0 series lead. Navarro plated three runs in the fourth inning, sixt in the fifth, another in the sixth, and four in the seventh.

Navarro girls run away from Bandera in bi-district playoff rout

Seguin, TX, USA / Seguin Today Feb 12, 2021 7:59 AM (Pleasanton) – Navarro advanced through the bi-district round of the 4A girls basketball playoffs in dominant fashion Thursday night with a 63-28 dismantling of Bandera at the Plesanton ISD Athletic Complex. The Panthers overcame cold shooting early to forge a 16-8 lead by the end of the first quarter and pushed the margin out to 17 points, 33-16, by halftime. Navarro stretched the cushion to more than 30 points in the third quarter and took a 51-23 lead into the fourth. Panthers head coach Darrell Harborth credited his team for dialing up the defensive intensity after the Bulldogs handled Navarro’ pressure in the early going.
