Amazon launches IP Accelerator programme In India

E-commerce major Amazon on Sunday announced the launch of its Intellectual Property Accelerator (IP Accelerator) programme in India to provide sellers, who are also brand owners, with access to services from IP experts and law firms. These sellers, including small and medium-sized sellers, can choose to engage with these IP law firms to help secure trademarks, protect their brands and tackle infringement, on Amazon.in and Amazon websites globally, according to a statement. Mary Beth Westmoreland, vice-president, technology, brand protection at Amazon, said the IP Accelerator programme is already available in the US, Europe and Canada. “…we are excited to offer the advantages of this programme to our Indian businesses… Our Intellectual Property Accelerator Program enables businesses to protect their intellectual property, which in turn helps to ensure an authentic shopping experience for everyone,” Westmoreland added.

(Photo/Provided) When Catherine Cook LaCour first joined Blackbaud’s executive leadership team in 2014 as vice president of corporate marketing, she was the only woman on a team of all men to directly report to the CEO. It wouldn’t be until about a year later when she would be joined by a female chief technology officer. Fast forward seven years, she has now been named one of the 2021 Top 50 Most Powerful Women in Technology, representing a female leader who champions diversity in the technology industry. The award comes from DiversityFirst and the National Diversity Council.
