AMA Vice President Dr Chris Moy says there is actually some really good news to come from the fallout of the expanding COVID-19 outbreak on Sydney s Northern Beaches.
As the numbers of COVID-19 cases continues to grow, Dr Moy said there are significant worries about what is going on in Sydney at the moment. Because, essentially, it is kind of high alert at the moment and there is a significant uncertainty which is leaving things very worrying for, I think, everybody in Sydney and also outside, he said.

Western Australian Premier Mark McGowan has criticised the Berejiklian government’s handling of the coronavirus cluster in Sydney’s Northern Beaches, saying they need to stop “playing whack-a-mole”.
It comes as the Northern Beaches cluster continues to grow, with New South Wales recording 23 new locally acquired cases of COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8pm last night.
Premier McGowan on Saturday announced WA’s hard border to NSW will be reinstated effective from 12.01am December 20 for an unknown period of time.
“I just say to New South Wales, they need to get it under control,” Mr McGowan said.

The premier announced on Saturday the state’s hard border to New South Wales will be reinstated from 12.01am December 20.
It comes amid a growing cluster in Sydney’s Northern Beaches, which has seen the area officially go into lockdown.
NSW recorded 23 new locally acquired cases of COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8pm last night, with seven reported in overseas travellers.
