Lee Anthony Blinco, 35, of West Croft Terrace, Whitehaven, appeared at Carlisle Magistrates Court on Thursday. He faced one charge of assaulting a police constable acting in exercise of his functions as an emergency worker by beating, one charge of resisting a female officer in the execution of her duty, and a further charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm but this charge was withdrawn in favour of a further charge of assault by beating. All four charges related to an incident at Whitehaven on July 13. The court also heard that Blinco had committed the offences while on a suspended sentence. The order was made by Carlisle Crown Court on July 29, 2019, for offence of dangerous driving, aggravated taking without consent, and failing to provide a specimen for analysis.
