The West Valley City Police Department in Utah shared on Twitter that officers got quite a surprise after responding to an accident early Wednesday morning and discovering that the 9-year-old was driving a vehicle that slammed into a semitruck. The girl and her 4-year-old sister snagged the keys to the family car while their parents were sleeping & set out on their own summer adventure, police explained on Twitter.

Bill Merritt with the West Valley City Police Department told 2News a 9-year-old driver, traveling with her 4-year-old sister, sideswiped another vehicle on the on-ramp. A semi-truck driver witnessed the sideswipe and thought the driver was under the influence.  The 9-year-old driver then swerved into the semi. The crash occurred at approximately 5:05 a.m. Police said the children were planning on driving to California because they wanted to go on vacation.

Man found dead in parking lot of West Valley clinic; victim suffered gunshot wound, police say MGN/Pixabay and last updated 2021-05-26 18:34:46-04 WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah — Investigators with the West Valley City Police Department are looking into the death of a man whose body was found in the parking lot of a local clinic Wednesday morning. According to WVCPD, officers were dispatched to Granger Medical Clinic, at 2965 W 3500 S, at 5:14 a.m. Police say the victim has been identified as 27-year-old Juan Jose Zamora Guerrero. When they arrived, police found a car with its lights on and its doors open. Guerrero was in the back seat of the vehicle, and police said he had suffered a gunshot wound.
