Many Retirement Well-Wishes for Former Acting President

Losing someone with the guidance, wisdom and grace under fire consistently exhibited by Mark Ghan just isn’t replaceable at any college.
Fortunately for Western Nevada College, the former acting president and longtime vice president has decided to serve as a consultant to the college as he ventures into retirement this year.
Ghan has specialized in serving WNC’s legal counsel needs and overseeing special projects during his time at WNC. But he has been so much more to the college community than a crisis manager.

At the time of compiling this report, the New Mexico Department of Health, announced a new total of 164,263 New Mexico COVID-19 confirmed positive cases statewide, an increase of 628 new cases. Data shows that a total of people have recovered from COVID-19. In addition, COVID-19 cases recorded locally are as follows: Grant County has increased 6 new cases for a total of 1,191 positive cases; Luna County has increased 14 new cases for a total of 2,652 positive cases; Hidalgo County increased 1 new cases for a total 288 positive cases; and Catron County remained at a total of 70 positive cases. In addition, there are currently 611 COVID-19 related hospitalizations statewide.

In addition, COVID-19 cases recorded locally are as follows: Grant County has increased 13 new cases for a total of 1,185 positive cases; Luna County has increased 12 new cases for a total of 2,638 positive cases; Hidalgo County increased 7 new cases for a total 287 positive cases; and Catron County increased 2 new cases for a total of 70 positive cases. In addition, there are currently 612 COVID-19 related hospitalizations statewide.

Interested in a new occupation you can learn in a semester? How about phlebotomy? Learn how to draw blood and all about the information you need to know to become a practicing phlebotomist.
Take a class this spring at Western New Mexico University-Deming at 2300 E. Pine St.
The theory class runs from January 19 to March 12. The clinical is from March 15 to May 6. The classes will be from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
