They blame the TMC cadres for the post-poll violence
BJP leaders staged silent protests with placards condemning the attack on the party workers, allegedly by TMC cadres in West Bengal, at their respective homes in the city on Wednesday.
BJP State vice-president and former MLA P. Vishnu Kumar Raju alleged that the TMC workers had indulged in the attack, inflamed by the speech of their leader and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
BJP Visakhapatnam Parliamentary District president Medapati Raveendra, district general secretary Prasad V.S.N. Koppisetty and district Kisan Morcha president Vasant Kumar participated in the protests.

Mumbai: Television actor Karan Patel, who is an avid social media user, is quite vocal about his opinions on various topics. The actor recently mocked Kangana Ranaut for her tweet regarding the increase in oxygen plants. He took to his Instagram stories to share a screenshot of the actress’s tweets where she wrote about how everybody is building more and more oxygen plants amid the ongoing second wave of COVID-19 pandemic.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has announced sweeping restrictions in the state to curb the spread of Covid-19. Addressing the media in Kolkata today afternoon, Banerjee said that the government is taking measures to increase beds in hospitals to address the issue of bed crunch at hospitals. She also appealed to the people to donate to the CM Covid care fund to bolster the fight against an invisible enemy. I chaired a meeting to review the present Covid situation. We are increasing 3,000 beds. it will be 30,000 beds in some day, she said. The Chief Minister added that the state is short of vaccines and that she has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking his intervention.

Although India’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has made major gains in the four states and one Union Territory that voted in elections to assemblies over the past month, there is reason for the country’s opposition parties and alliances to draw satisfaction from the election results. In three states, non-BJP parties and alliances have successfully kept the BJP out of power.
Indian National Award-winning actress and avid social media user Kangana Ranaut’s Twitter account was suspended on May 4 following her comments against West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
Earlier today, Ranaut who is a staunch supporter of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi posted a series of tweets criticising Banerjee for the violence that took place in her state following the Assembly Election results on May 2. In her tweets, Ranaut demanded President’s rule in West Bengal after Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress (TMC) won the recent assembly elections in the state. She also tweeted that no violence was reported in other Indian states such as Assam where BJP won.
