AN AMBULANCE technician has tragically died whilst on duty this morning. The ambulance crew were on route to a 999 call when an object struck the ambulance’s windscreen at 8am. It happened at the junction of Moreton Road and the A49 in Herefordshire. Multiple resources attended the scene, which included two emergency ambulance crews, paramedic officers, the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham and two Mercia Accident Rescue Service doctors. A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Sadly, despite everyone’s best efforts, nothing could be done to save our colleague, who was the front passenger, and he was confirmed dead at the scene.

POLICE have warned people to avoid the B4348 at the junction with Thruxton after a serious crash between a motorbike and tractor.
The air ambulance is one of the emergency services at the scene of the crash described as serious .
A spokesman from West Midlands Ambulance Service said: We were called at 4.10pm to reports of a collision between a motorbike and tractor. On arrival we discovered one male patient, the motorbike rider. This is still ongoing and is a serious collision.

AN AMBULANCE worker has died after an object smashed his windscreen on a 999 callout today.
The driver was also injured after the crash on the busy A49 in Herefordshire at 8am.

The crew were responding to an emergency when the object struck the ambulance. No other vehicles were involved.
Pictures from the scene show the scale of the damage to the windscreen.
It s thought the ambulance service technician was in his 60s and retired last year before returning to the service.
