A woman has died after police cordoned off an area of the city centre this afternoon.
Staffordshire Police and West Midlands Ambulance Service attended an incident in Albion Square in Hanley.
A woman was treated at the scene by paramedics but later passed away.
A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: We were called to Albion Square in Hanley at 2.40pm today following reports of a medical emergency. Officers along with paramedics attended the scene where sadly a woman later passed away. The death is not being treated as suspicious at this time and officers are now tracing the woman’s next of kin. A report will also be prepared for HM Coroner in due course.
