A West Donegal Councillor says the launch of the new Donegal place brand failed to encompass the county as a whole. Councillor Noreen McGarvey says she feels the launch omitted some of the most iconic landmarks in the West of county such as Errigal Mountain and overlooked also Arranmore Island. A West Donegal Councillor is calling for housing association properties in Dungloe which have been lying idle for over a decade to be brought into use to help alleviate the housing crisis. Councillor Micheal McGiolla Easbuig raised the need for more social housing at yesterday sitting of the Glenties Municipal District. He says there is an onus on Cluid and Respond to step up to the mark also:

Councillor believes €2m Burtonport project overlooks heritage of area - Highland Radio

A West Donegal Councillor however, believes different design options should have been explored for the project in Burtonport. Councillor Micheal MacGiolla Easbuig feels the development was rushed through and more public consultation should have been carried out. The €2 million funding for Burtonport will go towards the construction of two new buildings, including a new ferry terminal building to support the area in becoming a modern sustainable harbour. Councillor MacGiolla Easbuig says the design of the project does not take into account the heritage of the area:
