A West Donegal Councillor is seeking an urgent meeting with the Minister with responsibility for the islands, Heather Humphreys to discuss the deterioration of infrastructure on Donegal s islands. Some island roads are said to be in such a state that it is impacting response times of emergency services. As it stands, work cannot be carried out on non-county roads until they are taken over by Donegal County Council. Councillor Micheal Cholm MacGiolla Easbuig is calling for a change in policy to allow works to be carried out:

A West Donegal Councillor is opposing plans for a Primary Care Centre in Dungloe. Plans have been lodged with Donegal County County Council for the development on Carnmore Road which would include GP services and a pharmacy. Councillor Michael Cholm MacGiolla Easbuig, fears Dungloe Community Hospital will eventually be downgraded as a result. While acknowledging that there is a need for additional resources for Dungloe Community Hospital, he doesn t believe this to be the right answer:

A West Donegal Councillor has hit out over the possible reintroduction of water charges. Green Party Minister, Malcolm Noonan recently told the Sunday Independent the possibility of introducing water charges should be explored within the lifetime of the current Government. The Dail voted in April 2017 to abolish water charges. Councillor Micheal Cholm MacGiolla Easbuig, founder and member of campaign group Can t Pay, Won t pay says they will be fighting the reintroduction of water charges if it comes to fruition:
