By the time saxophonist/flutist Mark Lewis got his band into the studio to record Naked Animals, in 1990, he d already established himself as a vitally creative artist via a series of acclaimed albums on his Audio Daddio label. His longtime Dutch quartet was documented on the Naked Animals session, which offers a startlingly beautiful glimpse into a working band with an expansive post-bop vision and is being released for the first time on April 2. The Seattle Mariners today announced that Kari Escobedo, who has over 20-years of experience in leadership roles in technology, healthcare, telecommunications and retail, is the teamâs new Senior Vice President of Information Technology.
Escobedo comes to the Mariners from Bartell Drugs, where she was Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer. While at Bartell, she led a redesign of the companyâs Information Technology, Enterprise Resource Planning and other systems initiatives for the company.
She will lead all areas of technology for the Mariners from Baseball Operations systems to business intelligence and data, ballpark technology and fan customer experience, both in person and online.

Bill Wright, the first Black competitor to win a United States Golf Association event in an era when African-Americans were not welcome either in segregated country clubs or in the top amateur and professional ranks, died on Feb. 19 at his home in Los Angeles. He was 84.
