Dr Hafiz Bin Salih, the Upper West Regional Minister has asked all departmental heads in the region to remove their political hats and work as a team to ensure the smooth development of the region.
He said, the Upper West Region was a safe haven for tourism and investment destination, which could only be harnessed through hard work, the commitment of its state departmental heads annd its citizens to attract the needed investments.
Dr Salih gave the advice on Wednesday during a meeting with departmental heads in the region to outline his vision for the development of the area as he resumes office to serve a second four year term to help execute the programmes and projects of the NPP government.

The Upper West Regional Minister, Dr Hafiz Bin Salih, on Wednesday, called on some eminent personalities in the region to seek their blessing and support in his bid to serve the people as he assumes office.
He said his re-nomination as the Regional Minister was as a result of the successes he chalked through the support, cooperation, and prayers of the traditional authorities and religious leaders which, ensured peace and development in the region.
The personalities visited include the Overlord of the Waala Traditional Council, Wa Naa, Fuseini Seidu Pelpuo IV, the Upper West Regional Chief Imam, and the Yeri Naa

The Upper West Region witnessed an ugly spectacle of a media encounter at which a certain supposed youth group from the Wa Municipality staged a press conference to ostensibly kick against any intended decision by the President to re-nominate the incumbent Upper West Regional Minister, Hon Dr Hafiz Bin Salih for approval as Minister for the Upper West Region.
Their contention amongst other things is that the Hon Regional Minister failed to offer the needed support to the party in the run-up to the 2020 elections resulting in the loss of some seats in the region and the inability of the party to meet its target of winning a minimum of eight seats out of the eleven seats available in the region.
