Aquarium to Offer Extended Summer Hours & Daily Sea Lion Demonstrations

On Saturday, May 29, the Aquarium of Niagara transitioned to a summer schedule featuring extended operating hours. Sunday through Thursday, the Aquarium will be open from 9am to 7pm. On Fridays and Saturdays, the Aquarium will be open from 9am to 9pm. These extended hours will apply through Labor Day.
As COVID-related restrictions ease, the Aquarium of Niagara will also begin offering scheduled daily presentations, including its popular sea lion demonstrations, which will be offered four times daily. There will also be seal and penguin feeding sessions and educator presentations. The Aquarium continues to operate at reduced capacity to allow for social distancing, and guests are advised to maintain 6-feet between groups throughout their visit, including during demonstrations.

LAmericans vaccinated against Covid-19 no longer need to wear masks indoors, health authorities said Thursday, May 13, announcing to update their recommendations. “Anyone who is fully vaccinated can participate in indoor and outdoor activities, small or large, without wearing a mask or respecting physical distancing,” said Rochelle Walensky, director of the Centers for Disease Prevention and Control, Thursday. âEven though weâre continuing our dimmer switch approach of easing restrictions, we need to stay vigilant,â Cooper said at a April 28 press conference. âIn addition to indoor masks, many of our strong safety requirements remain in place for public places, including social distancing and capacity limits.â
Cooper said the state still expects to lift mandatory capacity, mass gathering and social distancing restrictions by June 1.
