On Monday, health minister and CECC head Chen Shih-chung (陳時中) announced one new imported coronavirus case, raising the total number of cases in Taiwan to 912. The latest infection is a Taiwanese man who recently returned from Japan and had seven negative tests in a row before testing positive for the virus for a second time.

Taipei, Feb. 1 (CNA) The physical 2021 Taipei International Machine Tool Show (TIMTOS), which was scheduled to open in March, will be postponed to an as-yet undecided date due to a surge in domestic cases of COVID-19 in Taiwan, the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) said Monday.
However, the show will still take place March 15-April 15, albeit in a virtual format, the department said.
COVID-19: Rail, bus operators boost disease measures

People should not be concerned about taking public transportation during the Lunar New Year holiday, Minister of Transportation and Communications Lin Chia-lung (林佳龍) said yesterday, as railway and bus operators have enforced disease prevention measures in accordance with the guidelines stipulated by the Central Epidemic Command Center.
Today, railway and bus operators are to enforce stricter disease prevention measures due to a COVID-19 cluster infection at Taoyuan General Hospital.
In addition to a ban on eating and drinking on trains, the Taiwan Railways Administration (TRA) has also limited the sale of non-reserved seats on intercity trains to 120 per train.

Taipei, Jan. 31 (CNA) A man confirmed with COVID-19 on Saturday had visited Jiufen Old Street in New Taipei as well as several restaurants in Taoyuan, although Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) officials stressed Sunday that he was unlikely to have been infectious during that period.
The new case, a Taiwanese man in his 50s, went to Jiufen Old Street and Amei Teahouse in New Taipei on Jan. 25, said Health and Welfare Minister Chen Shih-chung (陳時中), who heads the CECC, at a press briefing in Taipei.
On Jan. 26, the man went to several places in Taoyuan, including a dumpling restaurant on Wenxing Road, Fo Guang Shan Bao Ta Temple, Yongfu Chin Pao Columbarium, Daxi Old Street and the Bai Nian You Fan restaurant on Minquan Road, Chen said.
