Taipei, Jan. 21 (CNA) Taiwan on Thursday reported another imported case of COVID-19, involving a Danish national who arrived in the country for business purposes on Dec. 30, 2020, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to three that day.
CECC says Taoyuan lockdown unnecessary

A city-wide lockdown is a measure of last resort, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) said yesterday, adding that the cluster of COVID-19 infections at the Ministry of Health and Welfare’s Taoyuan General Hospital has not reached that level.
With 10 cases reported from among the hospital’s workers and their relatives, some people, including Chinese Nationalist Party (KMT) members, are asking whether the center should consider locking down Taoyuan to prevent further spread of the virus.
The CECC yesterday reported two more cases imported from the Philippines and one from Denmark, but no more from the hospital.

Three KMT counties issue Taoyuan travel notices

Three local governments separately issued advisories or bans on travel to Taoyuan for their employees, with the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) as of Wednesday confirming 10 cases in an outbreak at the Ministry of Health and Welfare’s Taoyuan General Hospital.
Penghu, Yunlin and Miaoli counties issued the advisories and bans on their own initiative.
The three counties are governed by Chinese Nationalist Party (KMT) commissioners.
