Morocco is still waiting for “a convincing answer” from the Spanish government regarding its decision to allow Brahim Ghali to enter its territories, said Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita.
“Why did the Spanish authorities feel that Morocco should not be informed? Why did they prefer to coordinate with Morocco’s opponents (hinting at Algeria)? Is it normal that we learned about it through the press?” the FM wondered.
This case “is a test of the credibility of our relations … and whether they are just a slogan,” the minister warned in an interview with the Spanish news agency Efe published Saturday.

The Libyan parliament will hold a vote of confidence session on a new unified government, chaired by Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, on March 8 in Sirte, south of Libya.
Speaker Aguila Saleh said the session will be held if the 5+5 Joint Military Commission (JMC) guarantees the security of the meeting in the city.
“If that proves impossible, the session will be held in the temporary seat of parliament in Tobruk at the same date and time,” Saleh noted after his meeting with Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita.
The head of Libya’s parliament on Friday called on the country’s interim prime minister to form a government that represents all factions in the crisis-hit North African nation to overcome “differences.”

RABAT The British government led by Boris Johnson is studying the completion of an undersea tunnel linking Gibraltar to Tangiers, in partnership with the Moroccan government.
London has seriously embarked on studying the project that will link Europe to Africa, as trade relations with Morocco are developed.
In addition to the partnership agreement signed in 2020 after Britain’s exit from the European Union, Morocco and the UK see the Strait of Gibraltar, which is under British sovereignty, becoming the hub for a 28 km-tunnel that connects the two countries.
