In response to recent complaints, the Timmins Police Service conducted “intensive snowmobile patrols” on Friday in areas where violations of the Motorized Snow Vehicles Act and the Trespass to Property Act had been reported.
In all, 33 snowmobilers were stopped to ensure that they, and their respective snowmobiles, were in full compliance with the applicable statutes governing snowmobiles and operator conduct.

One operator was charged with driving under suspension contrary to the Highway Traffic Act, operating a motorized snow vehicle with no registration number and operating a snowmachine without insurance.

Snowmobile riders are being reminded by OPP that most of the trail systems in Grey-Bruce are still closed.
Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs members are preparing the trail system in this area, but the conditions are still not safe enough to open up all of the trails.

Grey Bruce OPP have received complaints from local snowmobile clubs and area land owners, about snowmobile riders who trespass on their lands, ride off-trail, or around closed gates and access points.
