Mountain Brook man sentenced on voyeurism charges after caught taking salacious photos under women s skirts

From The Trussville Tribune staff reports MOUNTAIN BROOK A Mountain Brook man accused of taking salacious photos under women’s skirts at area grocery stores was sentenced after pleading guilty to four counts of first-degree voyeurism. James Phillip Huggins Jr., 32, took photos up women’s skirts throughout the Mountain Brook area in 2019, according to court documents. He was sentenced to a 10-year suspended sentence and two years probation. The crimes occurred at Publix on Montclair Road and Piggly Wiggly on Church Street, according to Mountain Brook Police Lt. Chuck Clark. Authorities said that they received a report from a woman who said that she witnessed a man take pictures up her skirt while she was at the Piggly Wiggly.

James Phillip Huggins Jr., of Mountain Brook, on Thursday entered his guilty plea to the Class C felony charges before Jefferson County Circuit Judge Michael Streety. Huggins received a 10-year suspended sentence with a two-year probation. He must also register as a convicted sex offender. Huggins was initially arrested by Mountain Brook police in October 2019 and indicted in March 2020. He was charged with four counts of first-degree voyeurism for crimes that happened at Publix on Montclair Road and Piggly Wiggly on Church Street.

(WVLT) -The city of Oak Ridge announced a citywide household trash pickup that will begin on Monday, April 5. According to a release, household rubbish, old appliances, and minor remodeling materials will be picked up. The city is asking a few guidelines from residents: Residents should place all materials near, but not beyond the curb. Keep materials off sidewalks and out of parking areas and gutters. There is a limit of one truckload of material per residence. A truckload is defined as one pickup truck or approximately 3′ high x 4′ wide x 8′ long, approximately 100 cubic feet maximum.

Driver killed after striking car, utility pole in Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WTVD) One driver was killed in a two-vehicle accident that resulted in one car striking a utility pole in Fayetteville on Friday night. Fayetteville police responded to a crash just before 9 p.m. at the intersection of Raeford Road and Ireland Drive. The driver of the Mercedes that struck the utility pole has been identified as 31-year-old Mario Baldwin. Baldwin was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of the crash and the events leading up to it remain under investigation.
