This year s Boilermaker Expo, where runners receive their race packets and traditionally shop for gear, will be held Oct. 8 and 9 at the former Macy s at Sangertown Square in New Hartford rather than Mohawk Valley Community College. This was in part so it didn t clash with fall classes, and also to allow more space as runners are verified to be vaccinated. This decision provides the most viable degree of certainty for us, Donovan said. We re not at the end of the pandemic. Rather, we re at the beginning hopefully of the end of the pandemic.
What to know
This year s Boilermaker Road Race will be held Sunday, Oct. 10. Start times will be 15 minutes earlier than previous years due to the shorter fall day: 7:30 a.m. for the 5K; 8 a.m. for the wheelchair race; and 8:15 a.m. for the 15K.
