NEW YORK (Legal Newsline) - A company sued the City of New York for allegedly neglecting a tree until it began to grow onto their property.
The complaint was filed on April 19 in the New York County Supreme Court by plaintiff Everton Properties LLC against the City of New York, the New York City School Construction Authority and the Department of Education of the City of New York. Everton Properties owns the property at 1131 Broadway in Brooklyn. Next to the property is a school playground area.
The plaintiff alleges that a tree on the playground area has been neglected by the defendants and has grown into the plaintiff s east wall.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. After the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic paused construction last year, the opening of The Richard H. Hungerford School has been delayed.
The new $78 million building, which was announced in 2017, will serve students at one of the borough’s largest District 75 schools for those with special needs. Construction of the new building which will be located on the grounds of the Michael J. Petrides School in a parking lot in the rear of the Sunnyside campus began in June 2019.
