Image: Alamy Michelin, a French multinational tyre manufacturing company, has had to curtail the import of passenger car radial tyres (PCR) to India. In a statement to Fortune India, Michelin India said that the government has recently issued it a limited import licence. Tyre importers require a licence or permission for imports following the government’s move in June 2020 to restrict import of tyres used for cars, buses, trucks, and motorcycles, including radials and tubeless ones.

This includes Yokohama’s off-the-road (OTR) tire businesses across the globe and Alliance Tire Group (ATG) along with tire brands Alliance, Galaxy and Primex, which Yokohama bought four years ago.  YOHT has now released a new corporate identity and logo, that draws on the 100-year plus legacy of Yokohama while underlining its own distinct space in the off-highway segment. With the above change in the group’s visual identity, the website www.atgtire.com will now be migrated to www.yokohama-oht.com. New name in the off-road tyre game

SHARING OPTIONS: The Alliance Tyre Group at corporate level is no longer. It now falls under the new global name of Yokohama Off-Highway Tyres. The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd., announced last October that it had plans to consolidate its various off-highway businesses into one single entity named Yokohama Off-Highway Tyres (YOHT). This included Yokoama’s off-road tyre (OTR) businesses worldwide and the Alliance Tyre Group (ATG). The Yokohama Rubber Co acquired ATG four years ago including the Alliance, Primex and Galaxy brands. The new single entity, YOHT became effective from 1 January 2021. The firm has since released its new logo and YOHT identity. The ATG website will now be migrated to the new website www.yokohama-oht.com. Similar changes are being done for the apps available on Google and Apple app stores.
