Now, thanks to upstarts like Heat and Scarce, it s arrived in the fashion world with a vengeance, the latest concept in an industry where shopping habits are in a perennial state of flux and kids thirst for fresh ways of buying into luxury. From a brand stance, it represents a novel way of dealing with excess inventory and is much preferable to the reputation-shredding discount retailer.

Last week, ASAP Rocky released ads for Yams Day 2021 where he’s seen running up to random New Yorkers and humorously interviewing them on the street along with other members of the ASAP Mob. The commercials included cameos from New York internet celebrities such as Spider Cuz a living, Henny-guzzling incarnation of those “Deadass Spiderman” memes and BKTidalWave, aka “The Queen of Brooklyn,” aka that Jay-Z fan from Brownsville who vowed to destroy ISIS herself in the middle of Union Square.

ABC In honor of the recently-delayed Grammy Awards,
A$AP Rocky held his own ceremony, dubbed, the Yammy Awards, as part of the virtual Yams Day 2021.

Lil Baby made a virtual appearance to accept the the Yamborghini High Award. “I want to shoutout to A$AP Rocky, the whole A$AP fam. I want to thank y’all for the Yamborghini High Award,” said the “Bigger Picture” rapper during a virtual appearance.
Young Thug received the Hella Flows Award, most likely for his unique repetition of song lyrics and clever wordplay, as heard on his latest track, “Take It 2 Trial.”

The A$AP Mob resumed with their annual Yams Day celebration on Monday night (Jan. 18). While the event is typically a star-studded concert of events, the Harlem group went virtual to celebrate the life and legacy of A$AP mob architect, A$AP Yams. In doing so, the event was deemed the 1st Annual Yammy Awards.
The virtual event began with an address from A$AP Yams mother.
“Today to commemorate this moment we are in the streets where my sons visions and dreams began… where his biggest inspiration was Biggie Smalls. I want to give thanks to my A$AP Family and all of you for supporting us from your homes. To my A$AP Foundation for being there during crucial times, having in mind that our mission is to save lives.”
