Man charged in deaths of 2 motorcyclists back in North Carolina

June 10, 2021 ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, N.C. – A man charged with killing two motorcyclists in Rockingham County has been extradited to North Carolina. Martin Calvin Cox Jr., of Browns Summit, is in custody in Rockingham County following his arrest recently near Louisville, Kentucky. According to Sheriff Sam Page, Cox was taken to the Rockingham County Detention Facility from the Bullitt County Detention Facility in Kentucky Wednesday afternoon. Investigators said in May that Cox shot three people riding  motorcycles on Highway 29 near Reidsville in the area of the Barnes Street overpass after following them from a gas station just off the highway. Two of the victims died from their injuries.

Eden man robbed, seriously assaulted handicapped person

Updated: 3:11 PM EST Feb 11, 2021 WXII12.com Web Staff A 34-year-old man has been accused of entering the home of a wheelchair-bound Eden man and beating him with a baseball bat before stealing his money and medications.According to Rockingham County Sheriff s Office deputies, Michael Muncy Jr., entered a 60-year-old man s home in the 100 block of Entrance Court Tuesday morning.During the assault, investigators said the victim was knocked out of his wheelchair. Muncy is accused of hitting the victim two more times with the bat while he was on the floor, deputies said.Authorities said Muncy then removed a fanny pack off of the victim that contained cash, medication, and credit, debit and EBT cards. Muncy then left the home and as he entered his car in the driveway, he shouted, “If you call the cops, I will kill you!”Muncy and the victim are previous acquaintances, deputies said. Rockingham County Sheriff s investigators said Kimberly Sue Gauldin, 44, was hosting a gathering at a home in the 200 block of Amy Ln. when she got drunk and got into an argument with a family member. Investigators said a friend of the family, Adrian Brooke Riley, 43, tried to break up the argument and Gauldin started stabbing her.
