KSTP Created: February 06, 2021 11:37 AM The Roseville Police Department issued an overdose alert on Saturday after reporting two people who fatally overdose in separate incidents within 24 hours.  According to the Roseville Police Department, the city of Roseville is seeing a sharp spike in overdoses and related deaths. Within the past 24 hours, a 16 and 20-year-old have both died in separate incidents. Additionally, law enforcement used Naloxone, a life-saving medication used during an opioid overdose, two times in the past 48 hours to revive those who had suffered from potential overdoses.

Police said the overdoses may be related to a pill called Perc 30, a potent narcotic mixed with fentanyl, a dangerous synthetic opioid. Music star Prince died in 2016 of an accidental fentanyl overdose.

According to police, between Friday morning and Saturday morning, police had responded to two overdose deaths - one involving a 16-year-old and another involving a 20-year-old. Over the last two days, officers also used Nalaxone - a life-saving medication used during an opioid overdose - twice to revive others from potential overdoses. Authorities believe the recent spike in overdoses could be due to a pill known as Perc 30, which is described as a potent narcotic mixed with fentanyl, a deadly synthetic opioid.
