Chubb Appoints Richard Shanks as Claims Director for UK and Ireland LONDON, March 3, 2021 /PRNewswire/ Chubb has today announced the appointment of Richard Shanks as Claims Director for the UK and Ireland (UK&I). In his new role, Richard will be responsible for the delivery of Chubb s claims service across the UK&I. He succeeds John Latter who was recently promoted to Senior Vice President, Claims Director for the company s Europe and Eurasia & Africa regions. Richard will continue to be based in London and will report to John Latter. The appointment is effective immediately. Richard has more than 30 years of insurance industry experience and was most recently Claims Operations Transformation Manager for the UK and Ireland. Prior to joining Chubb last year, he held a number of senior claims leadership roles for other insurers and within the claims supply chain.

Darrell Jones, exonerated of 1985 Brockton murder, is suing the city

BROCKTON  A man who was exonerated after serving 32 years in prison for a 1985 Brockton murder he always maintained he didn t commit is now suing the city and its police department. Darrell Jones filed a lawsuit Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Boston against the city of Brockton; former police officers Joseph Smith, Fotis Colocousis, Paul Washek, Richard Shanks, Thomas Spillane, John Luciano, Donald E. Lagarde and Robert Gillis; William J. Sproules in his capacity as a personal representative of the estate of former city police officer Richard J. Sproules; and 10 yet-unknown officers and supervisors. The purpose of the civil lawsuit, which does not include a demand for specific monetary damages, is to seek redress against these defendants for their role in depriving him of the rights, privileges and immunities secured by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, it states.
