STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. Silver Lake resident Christina Caprino, RN is part of the team at Richmond University Medical Center (RUMC) and has been tirelessly administering the COVID-19 vaccine to Staten Islanders. Knowing the importance of the vaccination to hurdling the pandemic that has crippled the world, she was elated when she and her grandmother, Victoria Goldfarb, were vaccinated at RUMC.

Staten Island has topped 1,500 suspected coronavirus (COVID-19) deaths, city Health Department data shows.
Since March 20, the deadly disease has claimed the lives of beloved priests, 9/11 heroes, war veterans, a Holocaust survivor, teachers, members of the NYPD, a former FDNY battalion chief, a Special Olympian and scores of others.

Milton Bolton, 39, pleaded not guilty at his arraignment Wednesday in state Supreme Court, St. George.
Prosecutors allege Bolton killed Natasha Colon, 38, on Dec. 15.
Her throat had been cut, said authorities.
Bolton was Colon’s boyfriend, according to a law enforcement source.
Police said officers responded at about 8:45 p.m. to the couple’s apartment inside a multi-family building on Montgomery Avenue, between Fort Place and Victory Boulevard.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. A Brooklyn man, who prosecutors said drunkenly crashed his car into a West Brighton home last year while his girlfriend was on the hood, killing her, was sentenced Tuesday to up to 12 years in prison.
Two months ago, Jahfare Ford, 26, pleaded guilty in state Supreme Court, St. George, to second-degree manslaughter in connection with the death of Tierra Eddy, 29, last March 14.
