(OLNEY/NEWTON) The Richland County TB & Health Office in Olney and the Jasper County Health Department in Newton are now working to develop plans to maximize the distribution of the COVID-19 vaccinations as the state moves to Phase 1B of the distribution next week. Both offices are asking the public to be patient with the process. Depending on when the vaccine arrives, the two offices will be scheduling clinics accordingly with priority given to certain categories of those on the Phase 1B list. Appointments will be required for both doses of COVID-19 vaccines and the limited vaccination tickets will be available online ONLY with advanced online appointment scheduling. Walk-in shots will not be offered. (OLNEY) A note from the Richland County TB & Health Office in Olney in relation to the COVID-19 vaccination process. Once the Phase 1B shots are available, it will be announced on WSEI and WIKK Radios as soon as possible. While state officials say it will be another couple of weeks before local health officials will be allowed to move from Phase 1A to 1B, it’s believed the move will be made at least by the end of January.
