STARKVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) - Back in 2010, the Starkville Police Department started a program to give residents proof of officers patrolling the area.
Because of the coronavirus, that program was put on hold, but now it s back.
Rebecca Jolly spent nearly her entire life in Starkville.
She feels the town is, for the most part, a safe community.
“Sometimes at night, it’s not the safest, she explained, but I definitely feel like throughout the day it’s a very safe town.”

Celebrating the end to a great pre-season, last weekend finally saw the hard work of the Whitsunday Sea Eagles Women’s side pay off with their return to the AFLQ Mackay competition.
Most of the side had never played together as a team, with some never having played a game of AFL at all.
Lead by Coach Ian Hodges and Captain Georgie Carland, the team proceeded to not only enthusiastically take the field against the Eastern Swans but put up quite the challenge.

The Keep Walpole Beautiful Committee in partnership with the Walpole Cultural Council recently collaborated to create an opportunity for artists in the community.
The organizations have decided to paint the electrical boxes on Main Street beginning this spring, and they need the community to help. Community members of all ages and experience levels are welcome to submit a complete, full color, original piece of art. The entries should reflect the natural beauty of the town and celebrate what makes Walpole special. The due date for submissions is March 31.
For residents interested in seeing art on the electrical boxes, email Rebecca Joyce at keepwalpolebeautiful@gmail.com.
