The all-new 2022 Nissan Frontier and Pathfinder models will arrive at area Nissan dealers this summer.
Nissan North America has unveiled two important new vehicles for the 2022 model year. The updated Nissan Frontier mid-size pickup truck has been anticipated for several years in this resurgent market segment.
The all-new Frontier design combines an aggressive, modern style with elements inspired by the iconic Nissan Hardbody, a truck that burnished its rough and rugged reputation winning off-road races in the 1980s and 1990s.
The updated Frontier is powered by a standard 310-horsepower, 281 lb-ft, 3.8-liter direct injection V6 engine. This engine was introduced on the Frontier in 2020 and has proven popular with smaller truck buyers.

Nissan has unveiled the new 2022 Nissan Frontier midsize truck, which is set to go on sale in the US this summer. This bold-looking new truck replaces the D40 Frontier (we know it as the “Mother Trucker” Navara), which has been in the US since 2005. No typo there, 2005. North America did not get our current D23 Navara NP300, which was facelifted late last year, so this update is much needed there.
The platform has been retained, but the Frontier body is all new. As with most trucks, design is mostly focused on the face, and the Frontier features a square front end with a big grille (Frontier name above the new Nissan logo) and chiseled hood, framed by “precision interlocking” headlights.

Nissan has taken the wraps off the new 2022 Pathfinder, a complete redesign of the SUV that promises a welcome tech upgrade to go with its clean new styling. Unveiled today alongside the 2022 Frontier pickup, the new Pathfinder keeps owner-favorites like all-wheel drive and plenty of towing capacity, but polishes off some of the rougher edges.
It certainly looks more refined than the outgoing Pathfinder. The overhangs are shorter, while the fascia is larger. Nissan’s V-motion grille has three slots – a nod, the automaker says, to the very first Pathfinder – and there are C-shaped headlamps and a floating roofline. LED headlights are fitted as standard, with DRLs.
