Agents Seize 900 Pounds of Abandoned Mary Jane   EDINBURG, TX – Rio Grande Valley Sector Border Patrol agents seize more than 900 pounds of marijuana worth over $730K Tuesday. Yesterday morning, Rio Grande City Border Patrol Station (RGC) agents working near Chapeno, TX, discovered and followed the shoe prints of several individuals making their way north from the Rio Grande river.  The prints led agents to an abandoned truck containing bundles of marijuana. The marijuana weighed over 430 pounds and is worth more than $345K.  The narcotics were seized and transported to the Border Patrol station. Early this morning, RGC agents working near Los Arrieros, TX, with the assistance of a canine, followed foot sign of another group of individuals making their way north from the Rio Grande.  The foot sign led agents to an abandoned trailer, where seven bundles of marijuana were found.  The marijuana weighed more than 480 pounds and has a value of over $380K.  Agents searched the

85 Illegal Aliens Arrested in Horse Trailer as Surge Continues   EDINBURG, TX – Rio Grande Valley Sector (RGV) Border Patrol agents disrupted two human smuggling events resulting in 60 arrests. Monday, a La Joya Police Department (LJPD) requested McAllen Border Patrol (MCS) to assist with responding to a report from a concerned citizen regarding a male subject with a long arm guiding people through the brush to a residence in La Joya, Texas.  When agents arrived at the location, Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) were already on scene assisting La Joya PD.  LJPD officers advised they had taken a male subject into custody outside the residence who was in possession of an unloaded shotgun, a female, and another male subject, all United States Citizens (USCs).

Half a Ton of Proud Mary Confiscated at the Border   EDINBURG, TX – Rio Grande Valley Sector Border Patrol agents seized more than 1,000 pounds of marijuana in a 24-hour period this week. Monday afternoon, Border Patrol agents assigned to the Falfurrias Border Patrol Checkpoint in Falfurrias, Texas, referred a Ford F150 to the secondary inspection area after a Border Patrol K-9 alerted to the vehicle during the immigration inspection of the driver. Agents performing the secondary inspection discovered 15 pounds of marijuana concealed inside a spare tire worth an estimated $12K. The driver was placed under arrest and escorted inside the checkpoint to be processed accordingly.  The marijuana and driver were later turned over to the Brooks County Sheriff’s Office.
