The University of Regina plans to welcome back thousands of students to in-person classes this September, but the halls will still be emptier than in a pre-pandemic years as the institution takes a semester to transition back to normalcy.
Exactly how many students will return to face-to-face classes in the fall is impossible to know at this point, said U of R acting provost david Gregory, but it will largely depend on student demand. Remote learning will also continue to play a large role.

Judith Veresuk says the recently approved City Centre Core Framework (CCCF) gets Regina ready for the next decade of development.
“We’re hopeful this will demonstrate there’s a shared vision within our city for the future of our City Centre,” said Veresuk, executive director of the Regina Downtown Business Improvement District (RDBID).

Veresuk said things are looking “bullish” coming out of the pandemic in terms of development and investment in Regina.
As of 8:30 a.m. Sunday, 51-year-olds are also able to get their dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at the drive-thru clinic in Regina, the Saskatchewan Health Authority says.
The COVID-19 drive-thru facility in Regina expanded its age eligibility on Saturday.

The COVID-19 drive-thru clinic is now open to those 52, 53 or 54 years old.(Submitted by Saskatchewan Health Authority )
The age range for those eligible to get a COVID-19 vaccine at Regina s drive-thru clinic was expanded on Saturday.
Those 52, 53 and 54 are now eligible to get a vaccine at the drive-thru site. Previously, only people age 53 or 54 were eligible at the Regina site.
Anyone who is not eligible for a vaccination will not receive one, the Saskatchewan Health Authority said in a Saturday news release.
