Oneida Board of Education announces superintendent finalists Sapna Kollali The Oneida City School District Board of Education will take the next steps in its search for a new superintendent of schools when its three finalists visit the district on May 3-5. During the course of the visits, the candidates will meet with representatives of various stakeholder groups, including administrative leaders, instructional and non-instructional staff, students, parents and community representatives. They will also tour some of the district’s facilities and learn more about the culture of the community. Following the visits, the Board of Education will select a final candidate for further consideration. The board anticipates appointing a new superintendent around June 1.

Greece CSD appoints Craig Hill principal, HR director COURTESY OF GREECE CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT The Greece Central School District Board of Education recently approved the appointment of Brandin Jones as principal of Craig Hill Elementary School and Gina Larsen as executive director of human resources.  Jones is assistant principal of Odyssey Academy, a role he has held since 2017. He started his career in the Rochester City School District as a special education teacher, later serving as the coordinating administrator for special education.  “My first priority will be to listen,” Jones said. “I want to hear from staff, families and students on what work they believe needs to happen at Craig Hill. Their voices will be critical in guiding my choices as principal. In addition, I want to learn as much as I can about the history of Craig Hill.”

School Without Walls teacher accused of sexual abuse in another lawsuit

The lawsuit claims Walter Jahnke repeatedly sexually abused an anonymous student between 2000 and 2003. It names Jahnke himself, the City of Rochester and the Rochester City School District as defendants. In March, a lawsuit was filed alleging Jahnke sexually abused a School Without Walls student during the 90s. At that time, the RCSD told News10NBC that Jahnke had been put on administrative leave.
