Delmar Cpl Keith Heacook, a true hero, memorialized at funeral

SALISBURY, Md. A beloved husband, a beloved son, brother, father and friend to everyone he knew. Someone who knew how to enjoy the simple things in life  like watching his son play baseball and visiting his mother. An extraordinary man with a contagious smile and a dry, quirky sense of humor. A gentle giant. A hero to the end. These are just a few of the memories friends, family and fellow officers offered Monday afternoon as they paid tribute to Cpl. Keith Heacook, who was killed in the line of duty. “On April 24, Keith was getting ready for his midnight shift. Your thoughts are not, ‘What’s going to happen to me today?’ It’s, ‘Does the kid have a game? Do I gotta go to the bank? Am I getting enough sleep for my side job?’ ” said Heacook s cousin Larry Schwartz, a retired law enforcement officer.
