Segregation orders imperative for better HR management

JAMMU, Jan 30: Distribution of staff of erstwhile State of Jammu and Kashmir between the newly constituted Union Territories will be completed by ending March this year keeping in view the immense difficulties being faced by Ladakh in managing several important positions particularly at the Head of the Department (HoD) level.
Official sources told EXCELSIOR that distribution of assets and liabilities of erstwhile State of Jammu and Kashmir between the two Union Territories has almost been completed as per the approval given by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs.
“However, the distribution of staff is still pending as a result of which the Union Territory of Ladakh is facing acute shortage of manpower at various levels”, sources informed, adding “till date only 19500 posts of various ranks have been given to the Ladakh UT but proper segregation of manpower has not been conducted by the UT of Jammu and Kas

New Delhi [India], January 29 (ANI): President Ram Nath Kovind on Friday appreciated the efforts of the Central government in bringing positive changes in the Northeast, Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir, Naxal-affected areas.
President Kovind, in his address to a joint sitting of the two Houses of Parliament, said that extremism in the Northeast is heading towards its end, while the people of Jammu and Kashmir have welcomed the development policy of the Central government. He also said that area under Naxal-affected is reducing.

Leaders from Kargil on Monday expressed dismay over being sidelined from the first-ever tableau from the Union Territory of Ladakh, participating in the Republic Day parade in New Delhi on Tuesday.
“Ladakh region means cultural and religious heritage sites representing both Muslims and Buddhists from Leh and Kargil districts. However, it’s for the first time that Ladakh will have a tableau of its own but the leadership in Kargil believes there is no equal share of representation. Both the religious and cultural heritage has been ignored,” Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council-Kargil Chief Executive Councilor (CEC) Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan said.
