From Cameroon to Maine, Father Berngeh to serve Catholic parish
ELLSWORTH Straight from the heat of Cameroon, Father Roland Berngeh arrived in Maine mid-December, days before winter’s official start but still cold enough to shock. While not his first time in the United States, it was his first sighting of snow.
“In fact, I had lived in the States, precisely in Los Angeles,” he explained from his office at St. Joseph Catholic Church, his brightly patterned shirt a stark contrast to the beige décor. That was 20 years ago, and he never saw snow, despite an intentional winter stop in the Midwest on his way home to Cameroon in central Africa. That was not the case this time.

LAMORINDA, CA Saint Mary s College in Moraga has selected a new president to replace retiring President James Donahue.
Richard G. Plumb, the executive vice president, and provost at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minn., will take over as president starting on July 1. Richard s passion for Saint Mary s and Catholic higher education, along with his considerable accomplishments, made him the standout candidate in a competitive national pool of applicants, said Kevin Nagle, Saint Mary s chair of the Board of Trustees. We are excited to have him join the Saint Mary s community.
Moraga: Saint Mary’s College names new president [East Bay Times]
Jan. 12 MORAGA Richard Plumb will take over as president of Saint Mary’s College of California starting July 1, the school announced Tuesday.
Plumb, who will be the college’s 30th president, is currently the executive vice president and provost at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minn.
He will replace James Donahue, who is retiring at the end of the academic year after serving in the position for seven years.
“Saint Mary’s College holds a distinctive and highly admired place in the landscape of higher education, and I am deeply honored to be appointed as the college’s next president,” Plumb said in a statement. “I have a profound respect for the rich legacy of the college, its Lasallian approach to education and its commitment to providing students with a transformative and life-changing intellectual and spiritual experience.”
