The Lagos State Magistrates’ Court in Ogba has adjourned further hearing in the case of attempted kidnap of a businessman, Akin Doherty, till April 27, 2021.
Doherty allegedly escaped being abducted from an estate on Victoria Island, Lagos, by three men, who allegedly claimed to be operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
It was gathered that the suspects, Babatunde Oyesanmi, Austine Ofuani and David Olusoji, stormed the estate to abduct Doherty on the pretext that he was being arrested for an undisclosed offence.
PUNCH Metro learnt that when residents of the estate approached the suspects to find out why they invaded the estate without an arrest warrant or invite Doherty to their office, they hurriedly left.

The Lagos State Government yesterday filed charges at against ten #ENDSARS protesters arrested on Saturday even as many failed to show up for the protest amid heavy presence of police who had condoned off the Lekki Tollgate Plaza, the venue of the protest.
They were arraigned before a mobile court and were granted bail in the sum of N100,000 each.
A copy of the charge obtained by THISDAY reveals that ten suspects namely Answer Harrison (m), Adekanbi Kayode (m), Yomi Orungbamila, Anjorin Joseph Seye, Paul Terkuma (m), Dayo Keshinro (m), Belema Briggs, Anisere Sodiq (m), Olanrewaju Olonta (m) and Damilare Abímbólá were charged before the Lagos State Magistrate Court, Yaba Magisterial Division.

magistrate Adeola Olatunbosun of the Lagos State Magistrates’ Court in Yaba, on Tuesday, ordered the remand of an upcoming musical artiste, Sanni Wasiu, popularly known as Lilfrosh, in the Ikoyi Correctional Centre for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend, Okeoghene Iyomaterie.
Iyomaterie’s manager, Michael, had on October 5, 2020, on his Instagram page accused Lilfrosh of assaulting her.
Lilfrosh, however, denied the claim in an interview.
Our correspondent gathered that the 18-year-old Lilfrosh was invited by policemen at the Federal Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Alagbon, on Thursday, February 4, 2021, for interrogation.
The victim, who noted that she had been friends with the musician since January 2020, alleged that anytime they disagreed, it had always resulted in violence.
Embattled Nigerian rapper Sanni Goriola better known as Lil Frosh, has been remanded at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre, over the alleged assault on his girlfriend.
It would be recalled that Gift Camille, girlfriend to the singer, in a statement released via her social media account, accused him of battering her.
Camille narrated how the singer hit her different times, recorded her naked and threatened to release the videos if she spoke up.
Reacting to the allegation, the entertainer was given the boot by his label, Davido Music Worldwide (DMW).
A suit was filed against the singer before the Lagos State Magistrate Court in Yaba by the Lagos State branch of International Association Of Women Lawyers, following the development.
