THE ISSUE
Gov. Tom Wolf reported Friday that Pennsylvania ranked 13th in the nation in first doses of COVID-19 vaccines administered; 32.4% of Pennsylvanians had received at least one dose; 1.92 million Pennsylvanians were fully vaccinated; more than 5.4 million vaccines had been administered; and more than 1.6 million seniors had received at least one dose.
In the battle to defeat COVID-19, we are making real progress via vaccination.
The nation had, by Thursday, âadministered 20 million shots in seven days,â President Joe Biden said Friday.
And Pennsylvania is climbing the state rankings for vaccines administered, which is both amazing and surprising, given the commonwealthâs slow and rocky start in the race to vaccinate.

There are, generally, three scenarios that can determine where you go for a test. For persons exhibiting symptoms or who have known exposure to an infected person, thereâs a fairly robust network of health care facilities and pharmacies offering tests. These options usually must be pre-scheduled, and some require a referral from your primary care physician.
Likewise, someone needing a test ahead of a scheduled surgery or other medical procedure can often get tested at the facility where that procedure will occur. Check with your physician about scheduling and availability.
The other scenario involves persons seeking a test because itâs required for traveling to another country or state, or someone who wants voluntary testing before visiting a loved one. Tests for these situations are offered in fewer places and often take longer to return results.
