Onion Lake RCMP charge two after multi-detachment pursuit

The Onion Lake RCMP have charged two suspects after they allegedly shot at a home, and took officers on a pursuit around the area.
Around 9:30 AM on April 10th, police were called to a home on the Onion Lake Cree Nation that was shot at. The family inside was not hurt and able to seek safety at a neighbour’s home while officers responded.
The suspects drove off from Onion Lake towards Lloydminster, with several officers in pursuit. Officers from Onion Lake, Maidstone, Lloydminster, Kitscoty and Elk Point were dispatched, along with The RCMP Canine unit and Edmonton Air Services to aid in the search.
North Battleford Judge Daniel O’Hanlon granted Beaven an adjournment. Lloydminster Judge Kim Young retired so until he is replaced judges from North Battleford are presiding over Lloydminster’s court. Beaven waived Heathen’s attendance in court today but she is expected to appear by CCTV on April 19. Heathen has been incarcerated at Pine Grove Correctional Centre for women in Prince Albert since her arrest in July 2020. Heathen is charged with second-degree murder in the death of Braeden Alfred James Sparvier, 26. Twobears Bird, 22, of Onion Lake Cree Nation, was arrested in February 2021 and charged with accessory to murder. The charges against Heathen and Bird haven’t been proven in court.
Lloydminster RCMP looking for two armed robbery suspects, one arrested already

The Lloydminster RCMP say they’re looking for two suspects in connection with an armed robbery.
The robbery happened on March 29th around 1AM, at a local motel. A man and woman say they were robbed by three suspects, who took off in one of the victim’s vehicles. Two of these suspects remain at large, while another has already been taken into custody.
Police have issued warrants for 29-year-old Jade Whitstone and 20-year-old Kacey Dillon, who have been charged with armed robbery and other offences.
Whitstone is male, Indigenous, 5’6″ weighing 150 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. Dillon, a female, is also Indigenous with black hair and brown eyes. She is 5’6″ and 149 pounds.
“It’s a significant conflict for my office to represent him,” said Lyster. Bird, 22, was arrested in February 2021 in Prince Albert and charged with accessory to the murder of 26-year-old Braeden Sparvier. Shari Heathen, 27, also of Onion Lake, was arrested in July 2020 and charged with second-degree murder for Sparvier’s death. Turtleford RCMP say Sparvier’s body was found east of St. Walburg in the R.M. of Frenchman Butte on Jan. 1, 2020. Bird is scheduled to appear in Lloydminster Provincial Court on April 12. Heathen’s defence lawyer Blaine Beaven, at a previous court appearance said that he submitted a resolution proposal to the Crown. She appears next on April 6.
