A Juvenile Dies In A House Fire In New Iberia
The Louisiana State Fire Marshal s Office reports on their Facebook page this morning that they are investigating a house fire that claimed the life of a juvenile.
They are giving very limited information right now, but what they have released is that seven people were in the mobile home, and the body of young person was found.
Investigators say that person could not escape.
They are still investigating this fire that started at around 5:30 this morning.
This mobile home is located in the 300 block of Deare Street.

As the end of the year approaches, the Louisiana State Fire Marshal s Office is urging residents to stay safe when using fireworks to ring in the new year.
The State Fire Marshalâs Office is encourage all Louisiana residents to not only be safe when using fireworks, but knowledgeable when buying them and prepared if considering attending a public fireworks display during this pandemic.
Ordinarily, the SFM says it would encourage families to choose to enjoy public fireworks displays over creating their own. However, many public fireworks displays are either being canceled or altered due to the concerns over COVID-19.

House Fire Claims Life In Lafayette
The family of a twenty-two-year-old Lafayette man say they heard a loud boom come from his room. The family went to investigate, and they found the room on fire.
Lafayette Fire Department Spokesman and Fire Investigator Alton Trahan says, via press release, that Brock Johnson died as a result of the fire.
The man s family man tried desperately to get the man out of his bedroom, but they were unsuccessful in their attempts. The Lafayette Fire Department was contacted, and they were able to begin bringing the blaze under control after getting there around 8:38 last night. It took about twenty minutes for the fire fighters to put this blaze out.
